CWE is a MUD distribution I created that has many features which are not typically found in a publicly released MUD. It is distibuted under the Circle and Diku licenses. My goal in starting this project was to create a robust, stable, and easy-to-use MUD engine that has all the best features patched in.

CWE is based on CWG (both Buddha and Suntzu), which are based on CircleMUD 3.1. I am hoping the CWG maintainers will incorporate all of my improvements into CWG so that there will be only one enhanced Circle codebase. Until then, this website will remain active. You can telnet into CWE at cwe.homelinux.org:5000. CWE can import zones from CircleMUD, Suntzu, and Buddha based MUDs. Many of the CWE's features have been reverse engineered from what I consider to be the best MUD on the internet; Apocalypse V. Some of CWE's most notable features are:

• Additional levels (40 mortal levels, 6 immortal levels)
• Room light intensity handling
• Moon phases
• Cloak of Shadows & Bat Sonar
• Items that grant skill/spell proficiencies
• Enhanced OasisOLC and DeathGate (DG) scripts
• Improved NPC AI
• Improved NPC skill handling
• Enhanced NPC aggression
• Improved charmie handling
• Improved prompt, scan, flee, consider and attributes commands
• Improved race/class restriction handling
• Enhanced spell duration handling (supports spells that last a certain number of combat rounds)
• Size restrictions
• Current help information on every command and feature
• MUD file converters (to convert zone files from other MUD codebases)
